Fulawasi is the next stop on our tour to the 7-Color Mountain, where we will start our hike. The hike to Apu Vinicunca will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes uphill until we reach the foothills of the Red Valley, the access point to this beautiful 7-Color Mountain. Tres Chimbadas, an oxbow lake, is a short boat ride followed by a forty-five-minute hike from Posada Amazonas. Here, you'll glide across the lake in a catamaran, on the lookout for the resident family of nine giant river otters (spotted by 60% of our lake visitors). The lake's edge is also a habitat for caimans, hoatzins, and horned screamers. Otters are most active from dawn until around eight or nine AM. Later in the day, your guide will escort you to the Centro Ñape, a community initiative that creates medicinal products from forest plants, offering them to patients at their small clinic. They've established a trail that educates visitors about the various medicinal and other uses of selected plants.
