Day 1: Lima

Airport to Hotel estimated driving time: forty-five minutes

Once your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International airport, follow the signs to immigration and then to customs. After exiting customs, you will be in the International arrivals area, where your driver will meet and greet you, he will be holding a sign with your name, and drive you to your hotel located in Miraflores area.

Upon arrival at your hotel, our Staff will welcome you and assist you with all you may need.

Day 2: Lima Food and Colonial Experience

Hotel pickup time: 09:00 a.m.

This morning you will be picked up from your hotel by your personal guide and explore the highlights of Lima, visit a local market, enjoy the Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, have beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, try the tasty Peruvian cuisine and walk along the historic center of Lima, where you will enjoy the best Pisco sour!

Surquillo Market

Your day starts with a short walk through Miraflores streets towards the local Market of Surquillo, here your guide will explain you about the “secrets” of the Peruvian gastronomy which date back to Inca and Colonial periods, from the many types of potatoes found in Peru to the spices and seasonings used in the Peruvian cuisine, you will have the chance to taste some of the exotic seasonal fruits too.

The Artsy neighborhood of Barranco

Our next stop will be Barranco, the most artsy and bohemian neighborhood of Lima facing the Pacific Ocean and home to some Colonial-style houses, beautiful street art and art galleries.

After a short walk along its Plaza, we will head to one of the best coffee shops in the country, for a special coffee experience, you will enjoy any coffee drink made from the finest organic coffee beans in Peru.

Our next stop will be the picturesque “Bridge of Sighs” which was built in 1876 and has been known by the locals as “el Puente de los Suspiros”, the path from this wooden bridge leads us to a cliff, where we will enjoy unique views of the Pacific Ocean!

Peruvian Lunch

After your visit to Barranco you will enjoy a delicious Peruvian lunch in a local Restaurant. Lunch is the main meal of the day in Peru.

Historic Center of Lima

After lunch, you will be driven to the Historic Center of Lima, where you will learn about the colonial past of Peru and how it is still reflected in modern times.

The Historic Center of Lima known as “the City of the Kings”, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 due to its outstanding value not only by its high concentration of historic monuments but also due to Lima played an important role in the history of the New World from the 16th to the 18th century.

This afternoon, your guide will lead you through the main old streets of Lima Antigua and explore its beautiful monuments, balconies (Lima has more than 1500 balconies) and the Colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies, where the first Spanish families lived during the colonial period.

Walking along the Plaza de Armas, see the baroque cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and a visit inside the convent of San Francisco is a unique way to learn about the history of Peru.

By the way, San Francisco convent is home to the largest collection of religious art in the Americas and underneath the convent, lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery during the colonial period.

But your tour not only include monuments, you will try a traditional Churro and have time to visit one of the oldest and finest bars in town to learn about the origins of the Peruvian Pisco sour and enjoy this traditional drink.

After your Lima tour, your guide can recommend you a nice Restaurant to have dinner in the old town or one overlooking the Pacific Ocean near your hotel.

Day 3: Flight from Lima to Cusco. Sacred Valley

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco City. You will be assisted with your flight check-in, baggage drop-off, and then escorted to the entrance to the security check area. Notice that gates and departure times may change, please check the airport monitors.

Upon arrival at Cusco airport, follow the signs for the baggage claim area, after collecting your luggage you will be in the arrivals area, where our staff will welcome you and drive you to the Sacred Valley, the most comfortable area to adjust to the altitude.

On the way to your hotel you will enjoy visiting Awanacancha center and Pisac village and Market.

Cusco – Awanacancha Farm. Feed Llamas and Alpacas!

Our staff will drive you to Awanacancha farm. The fun can’t wait, here you will feed Llamas and Alpacas, take pictures with them and learn about the amazing textiles made by the Quechua weavers in the Peruvian Andes.

Awanacancha – Pisac Market & Empanadas

Estimated driving time: twenty minutes

After visiting Awanacancha you will be driven to the peaceful Quechua village of Pisac, a perfect place to immerse yourself in the Quechua world!  Here you will explore its famous Indian market and interact with Quechua families who sell unique handicraft and amazing souvenirs, some of them wearing their traditional outfit. You will also have the chance to try the delicious Empanadas made in a wood-burning oven!

After visiting Pisac you will be driven to your hotel located in the sacred valley, the most comfortable area to adjust to the altitude.

Day 4:Ollantaytambo and Qosqo Ayllu

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Ollantaytambo village, here you will explore Qosqo Ayllu, the ancient Inca town that keeps its original walls and layout as it was during the Inca times, and still inhabited to the present.

You will be able to enjoy views of Ollantaytambo fortress, where the Incas made one of their last stands against the Spanish.

After visiting Ollantaytambo we will head to a local Quechua community in the sacred valley. This is a unique opportunity to interact with Quechua families and learn about their customs, ancient traditions and how it is living in the sacred valley of the Incas!

Inca Lunch (Pachamanca)

Today you will enjoy Pachamanca for lunch, a traditional meal cooked in the heat of preheated stones, it consists of different meats, native potatoes, corn, green beans and Andean herbs teas.

After lunch, you will be transferred to the train station to board the vista dome train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and escorted to the bus stop for a 30-minute bus journey to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival in Machu Picchu, you and your guide will enter the citadel and start your adventure in this amazing UNESCO Heritage Site. Exploring the remarkable architectural structures of Machu Picchu, enjoying the wonderful views of the Incas’ world, and learning about the history of this site, who lived here, how it was discovered in modern times and why the Spaniards never found it are just experiences of a lifetime!

Day 6: Cusco City Tour and nearby Inca Ruins private Tour

This morning afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel, join your tour group and start your visit to the beautiful city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

You Cusco tour starts with a smooth walk to the main attractions of this Inca city, its main square known as Plaza de Armas, then the Cusco Cathedral which construction started in 1559 and has an impressive unique collection of more than 400 paintings from Cusco school made during the 16th and 17th century. Next, you walk through the narrow Inca streets close the Plaza and appreciate the massive Inca walls which are the foundations of Cusco city.

Your tour includes a visit to the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, which is known as the temple of the sun. During the Inca time, the walls of this temple were lined in sheets of solid gold and its courtyard was decorated with statues and ornaments of gold! You tour includes a visit to Santo Domingo Church built by the Spanish colonists.

After visiting the city of Cusco, we will head to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman located on the outskirts of the city. Here you will learn more about the Incas’ secrets while exploring this amazing fortress and enjoying its beautiful perfectly fitted walls, built with massive stones! We continue to Qenko ruins, a site of carved living rock, then to Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site and finally Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. At the end, you will have an amazing view of the Inca city and surrounding areas.

Afternoon visit to San Pedro Market, Coffee Shops and Choco museum

You afternoon starts with a smooth walk to San Pedro Market, a truly spectacle to behold, filled with fruit, vegetable and Andean grains stands. The lack of refrigeration means that products are displayed open-air, you will find food not only from the Andes but also from the rainforest area of Cusco.

As you may have heard, Cusco is home to some of the best organic coffee so today you can visit some of the best coffee shops in town and even visit the Choco Museum where you will enjoy real chocolate!
