The Royal Inca

This 12-day itinerary combines the most beautiful colonial cities of Peru with spectaculars sceneries in the Andes.
Your lifetime journey starts with a short flight from Lima city to Arequipa city, the perfect place to start adjusting to the altitude while exploring its colonial buildings and houses built out of white volcanic stones. Next, you will travel through the mountains to the Andean village of Chivay located in Colca valley, where you start your adventure in Colca canyon and enjoy the majestic flight of the Condors.

Your next stop is Lake Titicaca. Sailing on the highest navigable lake in the world for visiting the floating islands of Uros, is just an amazing experience.

Your Peru travel experience continues with a smooth bus ride through the Altiplano region towards the Inca city of Cusco, which will be the base town to explore the sacred valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu!

Finally, you will enjoy Lima city, its parks, colonial buildings, ocean views and some of the finest Restaurants in the world will complete a perfect holiday in Peru.

Day 1: Arrive in Lima

Once your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International airport, follow the signs to immigration and then to customs. After exiting customs, you will be in the International arrivals area where you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to your hotel located in Miraflores area, one of the safest and nicest neighborhoods of Lima.

Upon arrival at your hotel, our English Speaking Staff will welcome you and assist you with all you may need.

Day 2: Flight Lima - Arequipa

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and transported to Lima airport to board your morning flight to Arequipa city.
Upon arrival at Arequipa airport, you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to your hotel located in the center area of Arequipa.
You will have time to rest and adjust to the altitude.

Day 3: Arequipa - day to relax and acclimatize to the altitude

Today you will have free time to explore Arequipa highlights like the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, Santa Catalina Monastery. Or just rest and adjust to the altitude.

Day 4: Trip to Colca Valley

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel, join your tour group and embark on an amazing five-hour bus trip to the Andean village of Chivay located in the Colca Valley and very close to the Colca Canyon.

Besides the great tour explanations of your English speaking Guide, crossing through Pampa Cañahua Park offers you unique views of the most spectacular Andean Volcanoes like Misti, Chachani and Ampato.
Your tour includes several stops on the way, so you will have many chances to take pictures of the South American Camelids like Vicuñas, Alpacas, Llamas and probably Guanacos and Vizcachas.
After enjoying the amazing landscape, you will arrive in the nice village of Chivay, where a delicious buffet lunch will be ready.
After lunch, you will have time to rest and relax.

Day 5: Flight of Condors over Colca Canyon. Arequipa

After an early breakfast, you will rejoin your tour group and set off on a great adveture in the Colca Valley, you will be driven to the Cruz del Condor cliff top observation point and enjoy the breathtaking flight of the majestic Condors!

After the Condor's show, you will continue enjoying views of the deepest canyon of the world, its Andean terraces, which have been used by the local farmers since pre-Incan times. We continue our way visiting Quechua villages and have views of some Pre-Inca Tombs.

After lunch, we drive back to Arequipa. You will be dropped off back at your hotel.

Day 6: Tourist bus ride Arequipa - Puno

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the bus station to embark on a smooth five-hour tourist bus journey through the Altiplano region to Puno city.

Upon your arrival at Puno bus station you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel located in the center of the city.

Day 7: Boat trip to Uros and Taquile Islands (Lake Titicaca)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Puno pier to board the motor boat and start your adventure on the highest navigable Lake in the world, the first stop will be on the floating Totora reed Islands of The Uros where you will see how these pre-Incan people live; we continue our journey onto Taquile Islands where you will learn more about Inca’s culture and traditions; their lifestyle remains the same as it has been for centuries with very little influence from modern times. Here you will find beautiful textiles and some of the best handicraft in the Inca region.

In the afternoon, we will return to Puno pier, from where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 8: Tourist bus ride Puno - Cusco

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the bus station to board the tourist bus to Cusco and have one of the most fabulous journeys with spectacular views of the Andes Mountains and countryside. The bus journey includes visits to Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, La Raya and Pukara.

Upon arrival at Cusco bus station you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 9: Guided tour of Cusco and nearby Inca Ruins

Free morning at your leisure.
This afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel and join your tour group to visit the beautiful city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! You start with a smooth walk to the main attractions of this Inca city, its main square known as Plaza de Armas, then the Cusco Cathedral which construction started in 1559 and has an impressive unique collection of more than 400 paintings from Cusco school made during the 16th and 17th century. Next, you walk through the narrow Inca streets close the Plaza and appreciate the massive Inca walls which are the foundations of Cusco city.

Your tour includes a visit to the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, which is known as the temple of the sun. During the Inca time, the walls of this temple were lined in sheets of solid gold and its courtyard was decorated with statues and ornaments of gold! You tour includes a visit to Santo Domingo Church built by the Spanish colonists.

After visiting the city of Cusco we will head to Sacsayhuaman, an amazing Inca fortress which main walls perfectly fitted, were built with massive stones. You will learn more about the Incas’ secrets, we continue to Qenko, site of carved living rock then to Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site and finally Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. At the end you will have an amazing view of the Inca city and surrounding areas.

Day 10: Sacred Valley tour. Train ride to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and join your tour group to start an exciting guided adventure in the sacred valley of the Incas!

Your tour starts with a smooth drive to the valley of the Incas, on the way you will enjoy the stunning views of snow-capped mountains, green hills, and the beautiful fields of Giant corns, potatoes, beans and wheat.
Your guide will show you the highlights of the Inca Ruins of Pisac and then continue with a visit to the famous Pisac Market, here you can see the local families selling their products and handicraft. The trip includes visits to Quechua colorful villages like Yucay and Ollantaytambo where you will be able to interact with the locals and learn about their ancient customs and traditions.
After lunch, your guide will show you the amazing Inca site of Ollantaytambo, here the Incas made one of their last stands against the Spanish.
Afternoon train to Machu Picchu Pueblo
Upon arrival at Machu Picchu train station, you will be welcomed by your hotel staff and escorted to your hotel.

Day 11: Machu Picchu private tour

After breakfast, you will be met by your guide and take a 25 minute bus journey to Machu Picchu where your private English speaking guide will embark you on an adventure of a lifetime that brings you back to the 15th century.

You will explore the most majestic Icon of the Inca civilization, walk through its narrow streets, learn about the history of this site, life of the Incas, and why it is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!
You will have free time to continue exploring the amazing architectural structures of Machu Picchu and enjoy the wonderful views of the Incas’ world.
After visiting Machu Picchu, you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch before boarding the train to Cusco.

Day 12: Flight Cusco - Lima

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport to board your morning flight to Lima.

Upon arrival at Lima airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Miraflores, the bustling, cosmopolitan area of the city from where you will start your afternoon Lima tour.
Afternoon: Lima Tour
After lunch, you will be driven to the city of the Kings where you will see beautiful monuments Colonial Palaces, Colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies, Plaza San Martin, Plaza de Armas, the baroque cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco which houses the largest collection of religious art in the Americas. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery during the colonial period!
Evening flight back home
You will be picked up from Miraflores center and transferred to the airport to board your flight back home.
