This tour offers you an amazing opportunity to live unique moments exploring and enjoying the highlights of Peru!

Your 10-day lifetime experience starts with a flight to Puerto Maldonado city, the entrance point to your adventure in the Amazon Rainforest. You will travel by boat upstream for about 2 hours to your comfortable lodge located in Tambopata Reserve, home to a rich diversity of wildlife, not only trees and plants but also more than 590 species of birds and 1,200 of butterflies!

After your Amazon adventure you will have a short flight to Cusco, located in the Peruvian Andes and the base town to explore the sacred valley of the Incas and the lost city of Machu Picchu, the greatest archaeological site in South America!
This wonderful experience includes a smooth bus journey through the Peruvian Andes toward Lake Titicaca located in the Andean Plateau and considered the cradle of the Inca Civilization. Lake Titicaca is home to the Uros and Aymaras people, ancient alive cultures!

Finally, you will have a private tour of the Colonial city of Lima, the new gastronomic capital of the Americas and home of world-class Restaurants.

Day 1: Arrive in Lima

Once your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International airport, follow the signs to immigration and then to customs. After exiting customs, you will be in the International arrivals area where you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to your hotel located in Miraflores area, one of the safest and nicest neighborhoods of Lima.
Upon arrival at your hotel, our English Speaking Staff will welcome you and assist you with all you may need.

Day 2: Flight Lima - Puerto Maldonado - Posada Amazonas

Please notice your Amazon adventure starts today. It is recommended to pack, in duffel bags or one suitcase, only what you will need during your Amazon trip, your excess luggage will be stored in the office of Rainforest Expeditions in Puerto Maldonado.

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and transported to Lima airport to board your morning flight to Puerto Maldonado city, the starting point of your Adventure in the Amazon rainforest.

Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport, you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to Rainforest Expeditions office, where you will register, enjoy a refreshing fruit drink and leave your excess luggage in the office storage, until your return to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Then you will be driven to Tambopata River port, located 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Puerto Maldonado, in the native community of El Infierno. From here you travel by boat through Tambopata River for almost 1 hour upstream to Posada Amazonas Lodge.

Upon arrival at Posada Amazonas, the lodge staff will welcome you and provide you with an introductory briefing and security tips.

Canopy Tower
This afternoon you will have a 20-minute walk to an observation tower and have the chance to enjoy amazing views of the Amazon treetops, Tambopata River, monkeys, flocks of parrots flying and even a few macaws and toucans!
In the evening you can attend a lecture about ecotourism given by a Posada Amazonas Staff.

Day 3: Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake - Parrot Clay Lick - Ethnobotanical Tour

This morning you set off on a thirty-minute boat ride and then have a walk for almost forty-five minutes to Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake into Tambopata National Reserve. You will enjoy a great day on board a catamaran searching for the Giant River Otters, Caimans, Hoatzin, horned screamers and birds.

Your morning continues with a birdwatching activity, a twenty-minute walk from Posada Amazonas will lead you to a Parrot Clay Lick; from a blind located only twenty meters from the Clay Lick, you will observe parrots and parakeets eating the clay on a river bank, however there is a chance to see other birds like Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet.

After lunch, you will embark on a twenty-minute boat ride down river to Ñape Center, a communal organization that uses rainforest plants for healing many diseases. You will visit the community garden of medicinal plants and learn about the different treatments for diseases like cancer.
In the evening, you may have a hike in the forest to look for frogs and some mammals.

Day 4: Posada Amazonas - Puerto Maldonado. Flight to Cusco

After breakfast, we retrace our river and road journey back to Puerto Maldonado city. After collecting your suitcases or backpacks from Rainforest Expeditions office, you will be driven to Puerto Maldonado airport to board your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival at Cusco airport you will be transferred to your hotel located in the center of Cusco.  You will have time to rest and relax.

Day 5: Sacred Valley tour. Train ride to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and join your tour group to start an exciting guided adventure in the sacred valley of the Incas!
Your tour starts with a smooth drive to the valley of the Incas, on the way you will enjoy the stunning views of snow-capped mountains, green hills, and the beautiful fields of Giant corns, potatoes, beans and wheat.
Your guide will show you the highlights of the Inca Ruins of Pisac and then continue with a visit to the famous Pisac Market, here you can see the local families selling their products and handicraft. The trip includes visits to Quechua colorful villages like Yucay and Ollantaytambo where you will be able to interact with the locals and learn about their ancient customs and traditions.
After lunch, your guide will show you the amazing Inca site of Ollantaytambo, here the Incas made one of their last stands against the Spanish.
Afternoon train to Machu Picchu Pueblo
Upon arrival at Machu Picchu train station, you will be welcomed by your hotel staff and escorted to your hotel.

Day 6: Machu Picchu Private Tour

After breakfast, you will be met by your guide and take a 25 minute bus journey to Machu Picchu where your private English speaking guide will embark you on an adventure of a lifetime that brings you back to the 15th century.

You will explore the most majestic Icon of the Inca civilization, walk through its narrow streets, learn about the history of this site, life of the Incas, and why it is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!
You will have free time to continue exploring the amazing architectural structures of Machu Picchu and enjoy the wonderful views of the Incas’ world.
After visiting Machu Picchu, you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch before boarding the train to Cusco.

Afternoon: Train journey to Cusco
Upon arrival at the train station, you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 7: Guided tour of Cusco and nearby Inca Ruins

This afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel and join your tour group to visit the beautiful city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! You start with a smooth walk to the main attractions of this Inca city, its main square known as Plaza de Armas, then the Cusco Cathedral which construction started in 1559 and has an impressive unique collection of more than 400 paintings from Cusco school made during the 16th and 17th century. Next, you walk through the narrow Inca streets close the Plaza and appreciate the massive Inca walls which are the foundations of Cusco city.
Your tour includes a visit to the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, which is known as the temple of the sun. During the Inca time, the walls of this temple were lined in sheets of solid gold and its courtyard was decorated with statues and ornaments of gold! You tour includes a visit to Santo Domingo Church built by the Spanish colonists.

After visiting the city of Cusco we will head to Sacsayhuaman, an amazing Inca fortress which main walls perfectly fitted, were built with massive stones. You will learn more about the Incas’ secrets, we continue to Qenko, site of carved living rock then to Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site and finally Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. At the end you will have an amazing view of the Inca city and surrounding areas.

Day 8: Tourist bus ride Cusco - Puno

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the bus station to board the tourist bus to Puno and have one of the most fabulous journeys with spectacular views of the Andes Mountains and countryside. The bus journey includes visits to Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, La Raya and Pukara.
Upon arrival at Puno bus station you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 9: Boat trip adventure on Lake Titicaca

After Breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Puno pier to board the motor boat and start your adventure on the highest navigable Lake in the world, the first stop will be on the floating Totora reed Islands of The Uros where you will see how these pre-Incan people live; we continue our journey onto Taquile Islands where you will learn more about Inca’s culture and traditions; their lifestyle remains the same as it has been for centuries with very little influence from modern times. Here you will find beautiful textiles and some of the best handicraft in the Inca region.
In the afternoon, we will return to Puno pier, from where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 10: Flight Juliaca - Lima

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Juliaca airport to board your morning flight to Lima.
Upon arrival at Lima airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Miraflores, the bustling, cosmopolitan area of the city from where you will start your afternoon Lima tour.

Lima Tour
After lunch, you will be driven to the city of the Kings where you will see beautiful monuments Colonial Palaces, Colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies, Plaza San Martin, Plaza de Armas, the baroque cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop's Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco which houses the largest collection of religious art in the Americas. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery during the colonial period!

International Flight
You will be picked up from Miraflores center and transferred to the airport to board your flight back home.
