Upon arrival at Lima Jorge Chavez airport, you should proceed to immigration by following the signage. After that, make your way to the baggage claim area and then proceed to customs. Once you have cleared customs, you will find yourself in the international arrivals area. Our friendly staff members, easily identifiable by the sign displaying your name, will be there to greet you and provide transportation to your hotel in Miraflores. Miraflores is a beautiful and secure neighborhood in Lima, situated by the Pacific Ocean, offering stunning views.

The Historic Center of Lima, also known as "the city of the Kings," was granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1988. This recognition was not only due to its rich assortment of historic landmarks but also because Lima played a significant role in the history of the New World from the 16th to the 18th century.

Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through the main streets of Lima Antigua, allowing you to marvel at its stunning monuments, numerous balconies (Lima boasts over 1500 balconies), and the colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies. These houses were once occupied by the first Spanish families during the colonial period.

While strolling along the Plaza de Armas, you will encounter the ornate baroque cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Archbishop's Palace, featuring intricately carved wooden balconies. Interestingly, the San Francisco convent houses the largest collection of religious art in the Americas. Paracas National Reserve

After your Ballestas islands trip, we will drive to the Paracas National Reserve, where you can appreciate the most beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian coast, the desert, and the sea. We will begin our tour with a visit to the Monument of Independence, from where you will have a panoramic view of Paracas Bay. Then, we will continue to see Flamingos, the former Cathedral rock formation, as well as the viewpoint of Supay Beach, Red Beach, and Mina Beach. We will proceed to the Interpretation Center, where you will learn about the biodiversity of the Paracas Reserve. We will conclude our tour with a visit to Lagunilla Bay, where you will discover the spectacular Red Beach. After your visit to Paracas National Park, you will have free time for lunch.

This afternoon, you will learn about the ancient inhabitants of Nazca who developed an underground water canal system to irrigate the dry parts of this valley. This water canal system allowed the ancient people of the Nazca Culture to combat prolonged droughts. This irrigation system is unique in the world and is well worth a visit.

The Cantayoc Aqueducts have an approximate age of 2000 years and consist of 28 underground aqueducts. This demonstrates that hydraulic engineering in the Nazca Culture was highly advanced.

Your tour includes several stops on the way, so you will have many chances to take pictures of the South American Camelids like Vicuñas, Alpacas, Llamas and probably Guanacos and Vizacachas.

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and rejoin your tour group. We will set off on a great adventure in the Colca Valley, you will be driven to the Cruz del Condor cliff top observation point, here you will enjoy unique views of the breathtaking flight of the majestic Condors!

After the Condor's show, you will continue enjoying views of the deepest canyon of the world and its Andean terraces, which have been used by the local farmers since pre-Incan times. We continue our way visiting Quechua villages and have views of some Pre-Inca Tombs. After lunch, we drive back to Arequipa. You will be dropped off back at your hotel.

This morning you are picked up from your hotel and have a 20-minute drive to Pachar, where we start preparing all the rafting equipment, inflating the boats, and providing all the necessary gear such as wet-suits, jackets, helmets, life jackets, and paddles. The adventure begins with a safety briefing and equipment distribution by professional guides who are experienced in river navigation. They will provide you with all the necessary instructions and ensure that you are prepared for the thrilling journey ahead.

As you set off on the raft, you will immediately be immersed in the rushing waters of the Urubamba River. The river flows through a picturesque landscape of towering mountains, lush valleys, and remote villages, offering breathtaking views at every turn. The rapids of the Urubamba River vary in intensity (II-III rapids), catering to both beginners and experienced rafters. Your day begins with a hotel pickup, followed by a scenic train ride through the sacred valley of the Incas. The train journey from Ollantaytambo to Km 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail, takes approximately one hour and forty minutes.

Upon arrival at Km 104, we cross a footbridge over the Vilcanota River and pass through a checkpoint where you'll need to show your passport. From here, our Inca Trail adventure begins.

Our first highlight is the Inca Ruins of Chachabamba, an important religious site and a guardhouse that controlled access to Machu Picchu. After exploring this fascinating site, we will embark on a four-hour uphill hike to the remarkable Wiñaywayna Ruins. This Inca site is the largest and most impressive on the Inca Trail, featuring terraces, houses, and breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery.

After enjoying a box lunch, we continue our trek through the enchanting cloud forest until we reach the stone threshold of Inti Punku, also known as "The Sun Gate." Located at an altitude of 2,745 meters (9,005 feet), this is a unique spot to witness the stunning panoramic view of Machu Picchu. We arrive at the "Hidden City" of Machu Picchu in the late afternoon.

After lunch, your guide will pick you up from your hotel, commencing your visit to the captivating city of Cusco, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embark on a leisurely stroll to discover the main attractions of this Inca city, starting with its central square, known as Plaza de Armas. From there, you will proceed to the renowned Cusco Cathedral, a remarkable structure whose construction commenced in 1559. Inside, you will be mesmerized by its exceptional collection of over 400 paintings from the Cusco school, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. As you continue your walk, you will traverse the narrow Inca streets adjacent to the Plaza, marveling at the imposing Inca walls that form the foundation of the city.

Your comprehensive tour encompasses a visit to one of the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. During the Inca era, its walls were adorned with solid sheets of gold, and its courtyard was adorned with gold statues and ornaments. Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and driven for almost two hours by private van to Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast. It is important to note that we will be in a remote community far from Cusco and we won't have the amenities of a city. Fulawasi is the next stop on our tour to the 7-Color Mountain, where we will start our hike. The hike to Apu Vinicunca will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes uphill until we reach the foothills of the Red Valley, the access point to this beautiful 7-Color Mountain.

We will walk along a trail that gradually changes the landscape to intense colored mountains and small icy streams that nourish and give life to this valley. We will reach an altitude of 5200 meters above sea level, the height of the majestic Vinicunca Mountain.

At the summit, we will have enough time to take beautiful photos in the colorful landscapes and immortalize this unforgettable experience. Our guide will provide us with information about the 7-Color Mountain.

We will return to Cusipata, where we will enjoy an Andean lunch. Then, we will head back to the city of Cusco, concluding our tour to the 7-Color Mountain.

This morning you will be picked up by our staff from your hotel and driven to Cusco airport to board your flight to Puerto Maldonado city, the gateway to the Tambopata Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon. Our team will transport you to the Amazon Lodge office located in the town, where you'll complete the registration process. We will have a one-hour drive to the Tambopata River Port situated within the Native Community of Infierno.

Birds of Tambopata

Later today, you will join your tour group and begin a trek that takes you to the 40-meter-high Canopy Tower with scaffolding. A secure staircase in the center provides a safe way to access the platforms above. From this vantage point, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the extensive stretches of untouched forest intersected by the meandering Tambopata River. Occasionally, colorful birds like toucans, parrots, and macaws can be spotted flying across the sky, or various species of birds in canopy flocks may land on the nearby treetops.

Awaken to the jungle's vibrant symphony and kickstart your day with a hearty breakfast. In the Amazon, the wildlife capitalizes on the early morning's cooler temperature and gentle light, and we follow suit. While you're on vacation, your guide may recommend some early morning activities that are well worth your while.

Tres Chimbadas, an oxbow lake, is a short boat ride followed by a forty-five-minute hike from Posada Amazonas. Here, you'll glide across the lake in a catamaran, on the lookout for the resident family of nine giant river otters (spotted by 60% of our lake visitors). The lake's edge is also a habitat for caimans, hoatzins, and horned screamers. Otters are most active from dawn until around eight or nine AM.

Later in the day, your guide will escort you to the Centro Ñape, a community initiative that creates medicinal products from forest plants, offering them to patients at their small clinic. They've established a trail that educates visitors about the various medicinal and other uses of selected plants.

Tonight, you're welcome to join a night stroll, a time when numerous mammals are in motion but remain elusive. More readily observable are frogs, showcasing forms and sounds as unique as their own natural stories.

Savor your final morning awakening to the rainforest's lively sounds - parakeets chattering among trees, monkeys frolicking in the treetops. Following breakfast, you'll begin your boat journey back to El Infierno community, then proceed to Posada Amazonas office to retrieve your belongings. Subsequently, you'll be transported to the airport for your flight to Cusco city. Our team will assist you with check-in, baggage drop-off, and guide you to the security check area entrance. Keep in mind that gate assignments and departure schedules may alter, kindly verify on the airport screens.

Upon arrival at Lima airport, follow the signs for the baggage claim area, after collecting your luggage you will be in the domestic arrivals area, where our staff (who will have a sign with your name) will welcome you.

  • Please keep in mind that the access to the Inca trail is controlled by SERNANP (Machu Picchu Authority) which has established a maximum number of people allowed on the trail per day. Inca trail permits are granted on a first come first served basis, so your Inca trail permit will be confirmed only after your passport information and deposit are provided. The Inca trail permits are limited to 500 per day (trek permits are also required for the porters and cooks) so it is very important that we receive your Inca Trail reservations as far ahead as possible.
